About
Elise
I’m a London-based comms strategist and psychological researcher. I started my career as a concert promoter, running an independent music venue on California’s Central Coast. After moving to San Francisco, I completed an honors degree in Postcolonial Literature, then worked as a data analyst at Google, an editor at a literary magazine, a junior creative executive in film, and a program director at a social justice nonprofit. In 2019, I launched my freelance business helping nonprofits develop branding, copy, and campaigns for their programs.
Storytelling and human experience have been the throughlines of my career. In 2024, I decided to ground my marketing background in social science, and this spring I earned an MSc in Psychology with Distinction from Birkbeck University, focusing on research design, behavioral science, and qualitative methods. For my dissertation, I designed a study that explored the psychological and relational impacts of housing precarity among London’s middle-income earners.
Each of my past roles has shaped how I think, communicate, and create. Today, I draw on research, audience insight, strategy, and cultural know-how to help organizations better understand the people they serve.
When I'm offline, I'm active in London’s music and arts scenes, inactive in parks with my community of strange and beautiful friends, or trying to get lost on a walk in a green space.
